It is vital that you have registered your install, or you risk being unable to participate in Grid Rewards.
When a home has solar panels or a battery, that home becomes a small part of the electricity system as they are now producing or storing power as well us using it.
To keep everything organized, every connection to the electricity grid is given a unique ID. You can think of it like an address for energy. It helps utilities and energy platforms know where electricity is being used or produced and ensures everything is measured and handled correctly.
There are typically two important identifiers linked to a home:
- One that identifies the home or customer
- One that identifies the electricity production (such as solar panels)
These IDs are not something people usually create themselves — they are assigned automatically when the home is connected to the grid or when a solar system is registered.
For Emaldo, having these IDs is essential. They allow us to:
- Connect to the correct home in the energy system
- Access accurate production and consumption data
- Enable participation in energy markets and provide ancillary services
That’s why we require all customers to provide:
- their customer ID (for the home)
- and their production ID (for their solar system, if applicable)
If a customer is unable to provide these IDs, we will not be able to connect their system to our platform or use it for providing ancillary services. This means we are limited on the services we can access and the Grid Rewards payouts we can offer. In some markets this will eventually lead to automatic termination of the contract with Emaldo, as we cannot deliver the agreed service without this information.
