Understand how to leave Grid Rewards or change plan, and how long termination takes for Flexible and Guaranteed plans.
Before you start
- Termination timing depends on your plan: Flexible or Guaranteed.
- Once you request termination, the change takes effect after the plan’s processing period.
Stop Grid Rewards
Flexible Grid Rewards
You can leave the Flexible plan at any time.
- When it takes effect: Within 3 days.
Guaranteed Grid Rewards
You can request to terminate the Guaranteed plan after your first 3 months.
- When you can request termination: After 3 months.
- How long it takes to complete: Another 3 months after you request it.
What this means: There is effectively a 6-month minimum commitment before you can fully exit the program.
Change your Grid Rewards plan
Switching from Flexible
You can leave Flexible at any time. After termination is complete, you can join another plan if available in your region.
Switching from Guaranteed
After the Guaranteed termination period is complete, you can:
- Rejoin the Guaranteed plan at the rate available at that time, or
- Switch to the Flexible plan and earn based on market prices.
What you’ll see next
- Flexible: Your opt-out takes effect within 3 days.
- Guaranteed: You can request termination after 3 months, and it completes 3 months later.
