-
Removed Grid Rewards related Inverter, Battery and EV charger limitations for Flexible Grid Rewards .
Flexible Grid Rewards contracts no longer have Grid Reward related limitations applied to the Inverter, Battery Capacity, EV charger or solar production.
Normal battery management limitations still apply, see https://help.emaldo.com/hc/en-150/articles/19786750944412-Battery-Status for more details.
-
Alignment of Grid Rewards contract lifecycles
Both Flexible and Guaranteed Grid Rewards contracts now follow the same journey for for new contracts, contract switching, contract termination, electricity supplier changes, and exception handling.
- For new Grid Reward contracts, earnings now start on the 1st day of the 4th month after sign up.
- Switching contracts between Guaranteed and Flexible Contracts now take effect after 15 days. Please note: you can only switch from Guaranteed → Flexible at this time, as the Guaranteed Grid Rewards programme is currently paused.
- Switching supplier takes effect after a 15-day processing period. Once the processing period ends, if the supplier change results in a change to your earnings, this will start from the beginning of the next month.
- We’ve removed the 3‑month minimum period and 3‑month notice period for Guaranteed Grid Rewards. For both Flexible and Guaranteed Grid Rewards, termination takes effect up to 3 days after the user requests it in the app (to allow any balancing tasks to complete).
-
New process to manage Grid Rewards related exceptions
We’ve introduced two new contract statuses — Pending Suspension and Suspended, to help you understand when your device or contract data no longer meets Grid Rewards programme prerequisites (for example: unsupported electricity supplier, missing Meter IDs, device offline, or too few battery packs).
- If an exception is detected, your contract moves to Pending Suspension for 15 days, your Grid Rewards earnings continue during this period. If the issue is resolved while Pending Suspension, the contract will return to a ‘Signed’ Status the next day.
- If the issue isn’t resolved within 15 days, the contract moves to Suspended and Grid Rewards earnings are paused. If the issue is resolved while Suspended, the contract will return to a ‘Signed’ Status after a 15-day processing period and earnings will restart.
- A contract can remain Suspended for up to 90 days. If the issue still isn’t resolved after that, the contract will be Terminated.
-
Improved Exception message Visibility and descriptions
To ensure customers are informed of any issues, we’ve moved Exception messages to the home screen to make it easier to find and exception reasons are now shown in more detail, so users can understand what needs to be corrected.
-
Meter ID information is easier to complete
Where Meter ID details are already saved for a household, they will now be pre-filled but still editable when completing the data for a new Grid Rewards contract.
-
Meter ID information is now Editable
The Meter ID field is now editable at any point during a Grid Reward contract. Users should ensure the number entered matches the number of their documentation, entering an incorrect number can affect your grid reward earnings..
-
Emergency Charge Mode stays active after the battery is fully charged
Emergency Charge Mode will no longer end automatically when the battery reaches 100%. If the battery later discharges and capacity becomes available, Emergency Charge Mode can continue.
To help manage the battery, Emergency Charge Mode is now limited to a maximum duration of 6 hours.
