Important note for existing customers If you’re currently earning Grid Rewards in Schedule Mode, we recommend staying in that mode to continue receiving payments. If you switch to, you AI Mode cannot re-enrol into Schedule Mode Grid Rewards (support planned for late 2026). A full set of FAQ’s and the calculator to help customers understand the different income options is available here. |

Customers are presented with a table comparing the features of the 2 options.
Alongside the calculator this provides the information required to make a fully formed decision on which is best for them.

Flexible Grid Rewards - Grid Rewards participation Hours setup now includes improved guidance.
Electricity Supplier
- Select Tier 1 or Tier 2 Electricity Supplier - Users earn more on either scheme when supplied by a Tier 1 Electricity Supplier as they are able to provide more Grid Services than Tier 2 Suppliers.
- If the customers Electricity Supplier isn’t on the list of available suppliers, the user will be informed and a customer service request is automatically raised with Emaldo.

- When selecting a Grid Rewards plan, we now explicitly tell users that your battery strategy will automatically switch to AI mode as part of participating.
- In some markets, Guaranteed Grid Rewards requires a meter/facility identifier and 24-hour participation. Meter IDs must be unique and are validated (the app can pre-fill existing IDs for returning customers).
- If there isn’t enough Grid Services available in your region at sign up, you will be informed what the wait time is.
- If Grid Rewards isn’t available in your region yet, you’ll see a clear in-app message.

New EV charging rules
EV charging can behave differently depending on your plan:
Flexible Grid Rewards:
- EV charging is limited to 4.14 kW when grid balancing participation is scheduled regardless of whether the system is actively participating in grid rewards or not.
- EV charging will not be specifically limited but controlled by the battery strategy.
Guaranteed Grid Rewards:
- EV charging is not allowed when the system is actively providing Grid Services.
- EV charging will not be specifically limited but controlled by the battery strategy.
New ‘Suspended’ Contract Status
Previously when devices went offline, grid rewards contracts were terminated and users had to re-enroll for Grid Rewards. We have introduced a new status ‘Suspended’ which occurs when:
Flexible Grid Rewards:
- None of your devices with at least 1 battery in is online.
Guaranteed Grid Rewards:
- None of your devices with 3 batteries in is online.
This new status means customers no longer have to re-enroll for grid rewards when devices go offline.
Note:
You'll continue earning Grid Rewards where possible (i.e. guaranteed grid rewards or top up payments) for the 1st 15 days, after which Grid Rewards will be paused.
