Any device that is connected to a network can at times experience interruptions or be disconnected. This is true of cellular networks (for your mobile phone), satellite (for your satellite navigation system in your car), and devices which are connected to cloud-based systems (like your Emaldo® solution).
However, like all technology providers, Emaldo® measures itself against uptime. This is calculated as the total amount of time your system is connected to the Cloud and fully operational vs the total hours possible per month. Our goal is to achieve an uptime of 99.95%, which is equal to around 20 minutes of downtime per month to allow for system upgrades.
In addition, Emaldo® provides critical balancing capabilities to the electricity network and generates revenue for our customers in the form of Grid Rewards. It is in our interest, your interest, and the electricity network’s interest that we keep your Emaldo® system connected and fully operational as much as possible.
Unlike some other providers, there is additional logic built into your Emaldo® system that will enable it to continue to operate even if the connection is interrupted, but this will be based on the last schedule / set of information the system received from the Cloud and so may not be perfect as the electricity prices, household load and PV generation changes over time.
