We've introduced a limit on EV charging power during scheduled grid balancing participation for flexible grid rewards customers.
Your inverter size limits how much power you can use at once for EV charging, grid balancing participation, and home use. If all power goes to charging your car, there may not be enough left for grid balancing—preventing you from earning Grid Rewards. We apply this limit regardless of whether the system is in reserve or activated, ensuring the battery is ready when an activation occurs.
The limit applies to all customers earning Flexible Grid Rewards, including those who signed up for a Grid Rewards contract before Emaldo launched the new Grid Rewards schemes and haven't signed up for the new Flexible scheme.
To charge your car at full power, update your Grid Rewards participation schedule to avoid clashing with your EV charging schedule.
The limitation does not apply to customers who sign up to the Guaranteed Grid Rewards scheme, but there are other aspects to be aware of. Please see the Grid Rewards Calculator for details of the limits that apply.
We have put together a tips article to help you understand this in more detail, and to get the most from your Power Core EV Charging & Flexible Grid Rewards. You can find that article here:
